  4. NOTE: You must have VBRUN200.DLL installed in your WINDOWS or
  5. WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory BEFORE you can install and run FireFighter 
  6. for windows.
  7.  
  8. VBRUN200.DLL is available on most BBS's or Directly from the 
  9. Authors BBS.. Shuswap Opus BBS

  18. This text file will explain how to use Setup1.exe.
  19.  
  20. Please follow the directions carefully.

  24. Copy Fire Fighter for "Windows" to either an empty directory
  25. on your C: drive, or to an  A:\ or B:\ drive floppy.
  26.  
  27. Make sure you uncompress the file if it is in compressed form.
  28. Eg; If you received ONE file, that file is probably compressed.
  29.  
  30. You should have these files after you uncompress the file:

  47. NOTE: If you have an Unregistered Evaluation Copy you should also 
  48. receive these files:

  50. FireInf.rpt ----  Incident test file.
  51. Practice.rpt----  Training test file.
  52. Bottle.rpt  ----  Air Bottle test file.
  53. Hose.rpt    ----  Hose test file.
  54. Ladder.rpt  ----  Ladder test file.
  55. Maint.rpt   ----  Maintenance test file.
  56. Case2.rpt   ----  Training Module test file.
  57. Contact.dat ----  Address test file.
  58. Dial.dat    ----  Dialer test file
  59. Roster.dat  ----  Roster test file.

  61. The test files have been included to give you a quick method of
  62. evaluating the program.

  64. Remember to delete all the test files before entering your own.

  68. You must run windows to install the program.
  69.  
  70. Select "File" from the Windows Program manager, then
  71. select "Run".  Type the drive you are using to install 
  72. Fire Fighter FROM: and type Setup1.
  73.  
  74. Example:  A:\Setup1 (if you are using the default drive.)
  75. Example:  C:\Bin\Setup1 (if you are using C: drive and a 
  76. directory called BIN). 
  77. Example:  B:\Setup1 ( If you are using B: drive.)
  78.  
  79. If you have typed in the wrong Drive and/or directory
  80. Program Manager will tell you it can't find the file.
  81.

  83. Once Setup1 is running you will be asked for the name of the drive 
  84. you are installing FROM.  Drive A: is the default.
  85.  
  86. Setup1 will ask you for the directory you want to install
  87. Fire Fighter TO:.  The default is "C:\FireWin". If there 
  88. is no directory by that name, Setup1 will create one. 
  89.  
  90. Setup1 will then install FireWin.
  91.  
  92. If setup1 cannot find a file it will stop installing the program.
  93. If this happens make sure you re-read this text file and have
  94. ALL the files in the directory or floppy disk that setup1 has been 
  95. asked to install from.

  99. If the installation is successful:

  101. Setup1 will then create a Windows group called "FireFighter for windows".
  102.

  105. FOR REGISTERED VERSIONS OF FIREFIGHTER FOR "DOS"  ONLY:
  106.  
  107. If you have a registered copy of FireFighter for "DOS" and you 
  108. REGISTER FireFighter for "Windows" : 
  109.  
  110. Setup1 will ask if you have a previous registered version of
  111. Fire Fighter for "DOS".
  112. Select "YES"
  113.  
  114. Setup1 will ask for the directory FireFighter for "DOS" 
  115. records are kept.
  116.  
  117. Setup1 will then change all your FireFighter "DOS" records into 
  118. a format FireFighter for "Windows" can use..
  119.

  122. Setup1 will NOT change or harm your previous FireFighter"DOS" records 
  123. in any way.
